MARY REICHARD, HOST: A driving lesson went off the deep end in Maryland last week when a car jumped a curb, crashed through a fence, and landed in a swimming pool.
Driver and passenger were unharmed. Just shook up and wet. The occupants were a middle-aged man and a woman, but it not clear who was behind the wheel when the drive turned into a dive.
A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman says one was teaching the other how to drive when the driver lost control.
The man and woman were able to escape the car—and the swimming pool—on their own.
This gives a fresh meaning to the word “carpool.”
