MARY REICHARD, HOST: Maybe you’ve visited the Smithsonian in Washington or the Met in New York.
But chances are you’ve never seen a museum quite like this.
A new one in Milwaukee honors famous athletes, celebrities, politicians and more with works of art but not with statues or portraits.
SKLAR: It’s a one of a kind hall of fame museum dedicated solely to bobbleheads. There’s nothing else like it anywhere in the world. We have 6,500 unique bobbleheads, and then exhibits related to the history of bobblehead, how they’re made.
That is Phil Sklar. He opened the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum with his friend Brad Novak. They both began collecting the figures 16 years ago.
Bobbleheads on display include characters from “The Wizard of Oz” and the “Star Wars” franchise and the first football and baseball bobbleheads from the early 1960s. They even have one of Donald Trump from “The Apprentice” that says…
TRUMP: You’re fired!
…upon the push of a button.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
