Kicker: The Flying Wallendas

MARY REICHARD, HOST: I’m scared of heights, so this story makes me nervous.

But what a feat! Brother and sister acrobats walked on a cable strung between skyscrapers 25 stories above Times Square!

Nik and Lijana Wallenda are part of the famed Flying Wallendas. Their latest adventure streamed live on ABC.

Both wore microphones as they worked.

LIJANA: Thank you Lord. Thank you for this opportunity.

Nik Wallenda is a seventh-generation acrobat, but this time, he said he was a little nervous. This was the first time Lijana joined him since a near-fatal accident two years ago.

They walked from opposite ends of the 1,300-foot wire. They had to cross in the middle, so Nik stepped over Lijana as she sat on the wire.

LIJANA: Nik are you okay? NIK: I’m fine. LIJANA: Oh this is tight. Hold on. NIK: You’re good where you’re at. You don’t have to move. I’m gonna do this. What do you think New York City? What do you think world?

The city required safety harnesses in case they fell. No need, though. Both Wallendas made it safely to the other side of the tightrope on their feet.

Never in a million years could I do that!
