NICK EICHER, HOST: Traffic came to a standstill on Interstate 285 in Atlanta last Tuesday. Of course, the same thing happened last month, will probably happen tomorrow, into perpetuity, it would seem.
Yes, I’m familiar with Atlanta traffic.
But that’s not what this is about. The traffic jam, surprisingly, had little to do with traffic, and everything to do with what came out the back of an armored truck.
Money, cash money, everywhere, rained out onto the interstate. Drivers pulled to the shoulder, got out and started stuffing their pockets.
Some of those drivers clearly thought they had a windfall. But police have some news for them: It’s not free money. This isn’t government finance, you know.
No, they didn’t say that. But they did explain on social media that it’s still theft and the money needs to be returned.
It’s also pretty remarkable no one was injured due to this isolated “cash storm.”
It’s The World and Everything in It.
